Personal or company, the same four steps
Tanzania doesn't accept U.S. apostilles. Individual documents and company paperwork follow the same chain, but the embassy charges very differently for them, so we sort your documents before anything is paid.

Certificates of incorporation, good standing certificates, board resolutions and powers of attorney for a Tanzanian company or branch can usually go in as one set. Send them together and we'll group them for the embassy.

✕ Sequence
Skipping the state certificate
Company documents have to be approved by the Secretary of State before the embassy will legalize them.
✕ Payment
Bringing cash
The embassy doesn't accept cash. Fees are paid by card, check or money order.
✕ Content
Copies instead of certified originals
Vital records and school certificates need to be certified originals, not photocopies, before they enter the chain.
Certified Tanzania Translation
Some Tanzania authorities require documents to be translated into Kiswahili and English before they can be accepted. We provide Certified Tanzania Translations that are fully embassy-approved, ensuring your documents meet Tanzania legal standards. Translations are accurate, professional, and accepted by government offices, schools, and businesses in the Tanzania.

This service is amazing! I wish I had known about it sooner. I had a document to be used abroad that needed to be notarized AND needed an apostille. It’s not so hard to find a notary but for anything more complicated, Aziz can get it done with a minimum of effort on the client’s part. He picked up the document, handled the legalizations process and returned the document to me. And in less than 24 hours! The consulate, which was my only other option had a ridiculous wait time to even get an appointment, not to mention they were going to charge me three times what Aziz did. His rates are reasonable and he is super-professional and efficient! He saved me so much time and navigated the whole process seamlessly for me. I highly recommend him and will no doubt be calling on him again in the future.

I was impressed with this company from start to finish, and I will definitely go to them again when I need a notary.First, it was super easy to set up the three appointments that I needed; the receptionist was able to confirm the appointments while I was on the phone with her. Second, the notary showed up right on time for all appointments, even in one city location during rush hour and where finding street parking was challenging. Even when I needed to change the location of one appointment at the last minute (from a Starbucks that wasn't open yet to a nearby restaurant), it was easy to reach the notary himself and work out the change with him. Third, the two notaries I dealt with were both professional in appearance and manner. Finally, company can cover DC, MD, and VA where I do business, and their price is reasonable.I'm very grateful that the paperwork went smoothly and was done properly. I'm a new fan of DC Mobile Notary.

Aziz of DC MOBILE Notary was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and reliable with regard to services we needed to authenticate educational documents for use abroad. I will no hesitate to utilize his services again. In today's world of everything automated and voice bots, Aziz was a breath of fresh air, answers calls and emails without delays and works on finding solutions for his clients. Thanks Aziz.

Legalization, Made Effortless: In the DC Area (DC, VA, MD): We can meet at your location or at our office. Out of State: Notarize your documents at a local UPS Store, then mail them to us — or request a UPS label from us. We’ll handle the entire authentication/attestation process.
This saves you time, avoids costly mistakes, and ensures your documents are Tanzania-ready before we begin processing.
What Is Tanzania Embassy Legalization (Attestation)?
Tanzania is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention, so U.S. documents are legalized rather than apostilled. After state and federal authentication, the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Washington, DC legalizes the document. We handle every step for individuals and companies.
Answers
Tanzania legalization, answered
Does Tanzania accept a U.S. apostille?
No. Tanzania isn't a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so U.S. documents need state and U.S. Department of State authentication, then Embassy of Tanzania legalization.
How much does the Embassy of Tanzania charge?
$20 for each individual document, such as a birth certificate or diploma, and $200 for each set of company documents approved by the Secretary of State.
How can I pay the embassy fee?
The embassy accepts credit cards, checks and money orders, but not cash. When you use our service, we pay it for you and add it to your invoice.
Do my documents need a Kiswahili translation?
Usually not. English is an official language of Tanzania, so U.S. documents in English are accepted as they are.
Can you legalize documents for a company in Tanzania?
Yes. Certificates of incorporation, good standing certificates, board resolutions and powers of attorney are legalized as a set.
