The Sudan legalization chain
One chain for every Sudan document
Sudan doesn't accept U.S. apostilles. The Embassy of Sudan legalizes a document only once the U.S. Department of State has authenticated it, and the state certification has to come from the state that issued the document.

Certified by the wrong state
The state certification has to come from the state that issued the document. A certificate from another state won't carry through to the embassy.
✕ Sequence
Going to the embassy before Washington
The Embassy of Sudan only legalizes documents already authenticated by the U.S. Department of State.
✕ Payment
A personal check or a card
The embassy accepts USPS money orders, company checks and cashier's checks. Personal checks and cards aren't accepted.
✕ Return
No tracking on the return envelope
Without a prepaid, tracked envelope, the embassy can't send your documents back promptly.
Certified Sudan Translation
Some Sudan authorities require documents to be translated into Arabic and English before they can be accepted. We provide Certified Sudan Translations that are fully embassy-approved, ensuring your documents meet Sudan legal standards. Translations are accurate, professional, and accepted by government offices, schools, and businesses in the Sudan.

This service is amazing! I wish I had known about it sooner. I had a document to be used abroad that needed to be notarized AND needed an apostille. It’s not so hard to find a notary but for anything more complicated, Aziz can get it done with a minimum of effort on the client’s part. He picked up the document, handled the legalizations process and returned the document to me. And in less than 24 hours! The consulate, which was my only other option had a ridiculous wait time to even get an appointment, not to mention they were going to charge me three times what Aziz did. His rates are reasonable and he is super-professional and efficient! He saved me so much time and navigated the whole process seamlessly for me. I highly recommend him and will no doubt be calling on him again in the future.

I was impressed with this company from start to finish, and I will definitely go to them again when I need a notary.First, it was super easy to set up the three appointments that I needed; the receptionist was able to confirm the appointments while I was on the phone with her. Second, the notary showed up right on time for all appointments, even in one city location during rush hour and where finding street parking was challenging. Even when I needed to change the location of one appointment at the last minute (from a Starbucks that wasn't open yet to a nearby restaurant), it was easy to reach the notary himself and work out the change with him. Third, the two notaries I dealt with were both professional in appearance and manner. Finally, company can cover DC, MD, and VA where I do business, and their price is reasonable.I'm very grateful that the paperwork went smoothly and was done properly. I'm a new fan of DC Mobile Notary.

Aziz of DC MOBILE Notary was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and reliable with regard to services we needed to authenticate educational documents for use abroad. I will no hesitate to utilize his services again. In today's world of everything automated and voice bots, Aziz was a breath of fresh air, answers calls and emails without delays and works on finding solutions for his clients. Thanks Aziz.

Legalization, Made Effortless: In the DC Area (DC, VA, MD): We can meet at your location or at our office. Out of State: Notarize your documents at a local UPS Store, then mail them to us — or request a UPS label from us. We’ll handle the entire authentication/attestation process.
This saves you time, avoids costly mistakes, and ensures your documents are Sudan-ready before we begin processing.
Sudan is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention. U.S. documents must be authenticated by the issuing state and the U.S. Department of State before the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Washington, DC will legalize them. We manage every step, from the first certification to the embassy stamp.

Sudan legalization, answered
Does Sudan accept a U.S. apostille?
No. Sudan isn't a party to the Hague Apostille Convention. U.S. documents are authenticated by the issuing state and the U.S. Department of State, then legalized by the Embassy of Sudan.
How much does the Embassy of Sudan charge?
$54 for a standard document and $604 for a commercial document. Our service starts at $495 per document, and government fees are listed in your quote.
What counts as a commercial document for Sudan?
Business paperwork such as company documents, contracts, invoices and corporate powers of attorney is usually classed as commercial. We confirm the classification before paying the embassy fee.
Can I submit my documents by mail?
Yes. Send the originals to our Washington, DC office, or we pick them up in DC, Northern Virginia or Maryland, and submit them to the embassy for you.
Do my documents need an Arabic translation?
The embassy's published requirements don't list a translation. If the office in Sudan that receives your document asks for one, we can add a certified Arabic translation.
